that also workout, they have stated the switch to a raw vegan diet has helped them in terms of strength, better workouts, due to more energy, and better recovery. I personally have not done much strength training as I am more focused on detox from a lifetime of horrible eating habits and 10 years of drug use and the last 2 of them heavy on heavy drugs and many health challenges.

Of course this is all dependent on things such as body structure, genetics, and natural diet of that animal. Regarding humans I could see how some would argue that well humans are naturally omnivorous and our smaller large colon size compared to other frugivores makes for eating less greens for amino acids and the need for more concentrated protein sources, such as animal foods.We all know Robert Morse would not agree with that stance. From the raw vegans, that I know of,

is you do not need animal protein for strength and power. Insects can carry so much compared to their size because the strength of a muscle is determined by surface area. Their small size compared to their volume makes for greater strength. The Onthophagus taurus dung beetle can carry more than 1000x their own bodyweight. I agree with you though, the top strongest animals from what i read are mainly carnivorous when it comes to their size but many herbivores are on the list too.

@gymgymgymgym
Well Gorillas are still stronger relative to their own weight and overall. Gorillas weigh about 460 pounds and can lift up to 4600 pounds. Bears weigh around 1500 pounds and can lift 1200, big cats such as the tiger are 600 pounds and can carry 1200. Elephants can carry about .6 times their body weight. Yes, both carnivores and herbivores can be strong. The gorilla is very impressive for a primarily plant eater pound for pound for a mammal. The point he is making

@gymgymgymgym Even if you are not sure what I mean, I am sure you can feel it and see what is happening around you regarding the climate change :)

gymgymgymgym January 27, 2012 at 11:59 pm

@organicheart Yes, but it’s in “summer ” now, if your talking about the solar cycle, but since about 1960, solar cycles have been getting less intense. So I’m not sure what you mean about a whole new era coming.

gymgymgymgym January 28, 2012 at 12:32 am

@42lucifersam Ants can lift up to 50x their body weight, but could never one kilogram. Gorillas may be stronger relative to their own weight, but big Cats and Bears are stronger. Perhaps Whales or Elephants are even stronger still, I don’t know.

organicheart January 28, 2012 at 1:04 am

@gymgymgymgym I mean exactly what I said :) the sun is going into a spring season. More solar flares and higher temperatures.

42lucifersam January 28, 2012 at 2:03 am

@gymgymgymgym
Gorrillas can lift up to 10x their body weight where as tigers twice and bears .8 their own body weight.

gymgymgymgym January 28, 2012 at 2:05 am

@organicheart What do you mean?

gymgymgymgym January 28, 2012 at 2:24 am

Surely the strongest animals on the planet are the big carnivores. Big Cats, Bears, Sharks, Wolves etc?

organicheart January 28, 2012 at 3:09 am

The good news is that the sun is going into the spring season and a whole new era is coming and this also involves more tropical weather; maybe not so much for us but for our future generations.
