When it comes to getting HCG direct into your system, where it needs to be to do its work, you need to know if HCG injections are better than drops. And what about those HCG pills; do they work?
Read on to learn more about how the body processes HCG during hormone therapy.
About Hormone Replacement Therapy
In most cases, hormone replacements are not injected into the bloodstream, and depending on the hormone being injected, this could be a very bad idea. (For example, people who accidentally inject diabetic insulin into a vein rather than muscle may wind up in a coma.) There are several ways to accomplish this; injections, pills and liquid suspensions are all common forms.
One type of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) that you’ve probably heard of (or may have experienced first hand) is used to treat menopausal women in order to relieve the symptoms often experienced at that time of life. When women reach age 50 or so, their bodies stop producing estrogen, which can cause a great deal of discomfort as well as putting them at greater risk for osteoporosis. A common type of HRT for men involves injections of testosterone, the production of which tapers off substantially after age 35 or 40. Diabetic insulin injections are another form of HRT for individuals whose pancreas fails to produce this hormone.
The Human Chorionic Gonadotropin Hormone
This hormone is produced during pregnancy and serves to provide protection to the developing fetus during the early stages of gestation. This hormone is no longer produced once we are born, but a fair amount remains in our systems for several years afterward. Eventually however, the modern diet of processed, chemically-laden food depletes our bodies of this natural supply.
This is part of what the HCG diet does; it replaces that which has been lost.
Choices
When it comes to HCG, there are three common methods of delivery:
Of these three, pills are the least satisfactory because they must travel through the digestive tract in order to enter the system; up to 90% of the active hormone is destroyed by stomach acid, according to an American Medial Association study published in the 1970s.
Injections deliver HCG into muscle tissue, and this is probably the shortest way to get HCG direct into your system. However, this method is expensive and requires a doctor’s prescription. Most people find that HCG drops are just as effective yet cost a great deal less – and are much easier to take.
