I’ve been going through a lot of your vids – really great stuff.

meghannelizabeth March 13, 2011 at 1:26 am

Hey durianriders, after watching your videos this past week it’s like a light bulb went off. I haven’t eaten mammals or birds (only seafood) for the last 7 days and my digestion has improved greatly. I used to have really bad stomach pains after most meals and I think it was due to eating meat and dairy. Hopefully I can one day transition into a vegan diet. THANK YOU so much for inspiring me! Keep doing what you’re doing.

could it be that the wide spread b12 deficient is a symptom of the ecological collaps of gaia? i think in 2008 there was a study in Netherlands. they grow vegetables which contains no vitamins because the soil couldn´t provide it any more.
do these animals get sick from b12 deficient or is it not really a “deficient”?

durianriders March 13, 2011 at 1:59 am

@spiritofdell but what is your homocysteine, MCV and MMA? You could have a raging b12 deficiency and be totally ignorant to it just cos your b12 serum is ‘ok’. Ive got 6 paleo mates that have chronic fatigue and have low b12 serum. I interviewed one last year. Check out my vids.

Read the book ‘could it be b12′ by Sally Pacholok. She aint a vegan so you can be sure it aint vegan biased but she talks about how common and dangerous b12 deficiencies are in meat eaters. They are at HIGH risk.

durianriders March 13, 2011 at 3:20 am

@hfocus001 Could you please provide me with names of these people with nerve damage? I bet you cant. I can but they aint raw vegans. Read the book ‘Could it be b12′ by Sally Pacholok. There is many references to people eating lots of animal products that had permanent nerve damage from a b12 deficiency. One was even a butcher!!

How do you explain that? You say that animal products protect you from b12 deficiency then why is 40% of the US b12 deficient? Why my raw meat eater mates have low b12?

@Aleboy88 Dude! Wakey wakey! Watch the vid and can you explain why 40% of the US is b12 deficient? Are 40% of the US raw vegan fruit eaters? LOL!

Some people supp, some dont. I do. You do Allen. You dont eat the same as me so why do you supp? Good question eh? Lets see your answer.

RawFatLoss March 13, 2011 at 4:16 am

Why would it need to be injected? Can’t you just take some B12 supplements or something? I’m pretty sure there is some Raw B12 supplements available.

swissroll99 March 13, 2011 at 4:34 am

Harley, would a b12 methylcobalamin oral supplement be worth taking? In other words, I am just wondering if the oral process would actually provide the absorption necessary to benefit from the supplement.

Aleboy88 March 13, 2011 at 4:49 am

Dude you have take vitamin B12 injections to sustain ur diet? Wow is that a pain in the ass?… that’s not natural and not worth it… The problem people have is an adsorption issue in the diet… Wakey wakey eggs ‘n bakey …buddy. its about time :)

kamalalovely March 13, 2011 at 5:13 am

@durianriders Hi Harley, can I ask you a question? I received my first B12 injection yesterday, and I felt energized almost immediately afterward (my level was at 200). I am wondering if you think it is possible for the B12 to take effect that quickly or if it should be a slower, more cumulative effect? Do you have any insight into general time-frames for this sort of thing? Thanks so much!

brandonx19 March 13, 2011 at 6:01 am

@hfocus001 Most people with B12 issues are meat eaters and not all vegans have issues with B12.

hfocus001 March 13, 2011 at 6:06 am

@spiritofdell Folks have to be very careful when they listen to these people. I’m watching YouTube clips of raw vegans running into issues with B12 deficiency. This can cause irreversible nerve damage y’all. If all humans needed B12 injections to survive half the world would be dead now with nerve damage and virtually the whole of the 3rd world that can’t afford expensive B12 injections would be gone. Animal products protect you from depleting B12 to dangerous levels as intended by nature.

spiritofdell March 13, 2011 at 7:03 am

I have been paleo for 8 years with no supps and I have very high b12. I am very active in the paleo community and no one has ever come back with blood results that said they had low b12. Also you’re wrong, you said that bacteria are your b12 and the fumigation in planes kills them. Bacteria produce b12 but your body is not able to absorb any of it. It’s a fact look it up in any medical journal you want.
Well that was my rant for the day.

hfocus001 March 13, 2011 at 7:32 am

Are you guys for real?? Everyone should take B12 injections?? You guys are beginning to lose touch with reality in this raw food world you’ve boxed yourselves in. Eat a balanced diet and you don’t need B12 injections. Did your ancestors need B12 injections to survive and produce you? If your diet is the way humans are supposed to eat how come you need to supplement with artificial (and maybe even dangerous long term) refined vitamins?

wordey123 March 13, 2011 at 8:14 am

@durianriders What I’m asking is if youve explored that idea as to why some people like yourself, no matter what diet fruitiarian, vegan, sad (might include a reactant like tomato lectin) they’re on can have auto immune problems along with B12 deficiency? I’m a vegan now, so dont think im a hater. haha. Just exploring the food science.

xvxCAROBxvx March 13, 2011 at 9:07 am

There are also B12-Sprays.
Google for “Homocysteine Control Spray by Pure Advantage” or “b12 methylcobalamin spray”
The one I currently have will set you back 0.2USD per 1000mcg dose and that’s an expensive one.
Spray in your mouth to absorb directly through the mucous membrane.

durianriders March 13, 2011 at 9:30 am

@wordey123 My mate eats paleo and eats more raw animal than anyone I know, he has a chronic B12 deficiency according to his b12 serum despite eating raw animals, grass fed, organic for over 5 years now. I talk about it in the vid. Pay attention! ;)

durianriders March 13, 2011 at 10:27 am

@Thailandsuay Go eat some fruit, have a nap and watch this vid again more closer. Pay attention to what I said/am saying. ;)

thestreetsempty March 13, 2011 at 10:30 am

Honestly, I don’t take supplements that often and I’ve never had problems with B12. But, I do know I need to take better care of myself and can’t just rely on diet alone. I’m gonna look into these injections!

B12. Always hearing about the B12. XD

It seems to me that if one has the money to go out and get an injection every 3 weeks, that one is pretty well off.

adamc404 March 13, 2011 at 11:23 am

weight loss is all people eff’n talk about, live healthy and weight loss will follow!!!

TheOutThereSomewhere March 13, 2011 at 11:50 am

B12 Is always a very interesting topic, there is B12 in meat and B12 in berries, Cyanocobalamin does not work for me, methycobalamin or how ever you spell it comes from berries.. I was going to say you must have the intrinsic factor…i have that as well! eat berries. Lemons with a tad of cinnamon and psyllium help with weight loss. not a nice mixture but yh they say it works.

mOOds999 March 13, 2011 at 12:18 pm

B3 helped my skin look really fast! But you have to change your lifestyle of course too to get real results! So i think this vitamin supplements should not be avoided at all better than taking tons of herbs.
